The story goes as follows: Five young lads on an unalienable quest to bring nastiness to the
masses joined forces in 2006. Founder and lead guitar Wizard Aaron Vega (former Crucifix B.C)
Enlisted the percussion skills of a then unknown Steven "peanut" Sacket. The next logical step was
to recruit former soulblood divide axe man marin "the Guillotine". When Personal trainer and mild
mannered vocalist Jared k. showed up by august, the cat was practically already shot ,stuffed and in
the bag................
In 2007 the first Demo was launched and achieved widespread acclaim. After various stints around
Local Austin Tx, The band ventured out statewide and shared the stage with many notorious texas
metal bands such as The Destro, Within Chaos, Carbide, Bangladesh, A devoured deception,
Brotherhood, and others. After several Radio, Television, and Charity appearances, the band then
Known as dead by knight lost their original Bass player, nick nasty. Unwilling to suffer at the hands
of defeat, the band struggled with personal demons, internal conflict, and drug addiction. But they
would prevail.
The band re-invented itself, as quite appropriately, the sons of oblivion. Keep on the
lookout for tour dates and a second E.p
Question and Answer,
with Aaron Vega
Stacey: Many fans have noticed the unique sound that you have created,
What is it that separates Sons of Oblivion from the other local Texas acts?

Aaron:
Well  baby, about 60 ounces of cold draft beer, thats what.
Stacey: How would you rate the Austin metal Scene today?

Aaron:
I give it about 99 out of like a 10 scale. This shit is blowing through the roof.
Stacey: Rumors of strong European Label interest have caught wind. Any truth to these rumors?

Aaron:
There has been some offers made. But nothing is peaking our interest at this time. We really feel like writing new stuff for a while.
Stacey: There has recently been a resurgence in the "shred" scene. How do you think your playing stacks up?

Aaron:
There's a lot of playing going on for sure, and there are a few awesome players out there. But no one is really saying
anything with their instrument. I Think when you are honest with your music, people will relate, no matter what you're playing.
That being said, There's just more guitar hero junkies with weak ears and no technique to make me look a whole lot better.
Stacey: If you had 3 words to describe Sons of oblivion, what would they be?

Aaron:
Pure Fuckin' Brutality.
Stacey: Any romantic interest for you?

Aaron:
Interest.......that's a strong word......I don't think I'm ready to make that kind of commitment right now.
Stacey: What is it like being in a room with 4 talented musicians?

Aaron:
It's very rewarding to be able to work with capable musicians, especially in a cookie-cutter band era. I can express my musical ideas more
effectively. Steve is a creative drummer, which is a hard thing to find nowadays. Marine brings his own stylistic ideas to the rhythm table, as well as
composition ideas. Jared takes his lyrics to a very poetic and emotional level, and his vocal style is quite original and diverse. Storey also plays guitar and
has a lot of insight on what was working before he even showed up, which is cool. On top of that, everyone in the band does something outside the
practice room that contributes like press, media, web, myspace, booking, promotion, recording. It's all about the synergy. That being said, It's like having
four girlfriends and no pussy.
Stacey: Any chance of a solo project?

Aaron:
Any chance I can get your phone number?
